Mark O's - Mark, IL.

Scratch another of the Lasalle/Bureau County classics off the list. After an afternoon of hitting the antique shops in Princeton, IL., we headed over to Mark, IL., and Mark O's. We had passed by it a few weeks ago, and I had heard of it from some folks. Pasta, fried chicken, steak, seafood.. the standard roadhouse fare. Pasta is house made .

On Route 71 on the edge of Mark, small looking on the outside, pretty spacious inside. No salad bar, but one of the better salads I have had out here, it had more than iceberg lettuce.

Fried chicken was solid, the crust/batter is one of the more flavorfull around. Chicken was perfectly cooked, but missing the flavor pop of some. I went with chicken parmesan, & some of the housemade gnocchi. Both were good. Steaks were expensive, I believe the cheapest was $17. Overall a spot I wouldnt heisitate to return to
